100 Hampton Road is a logdging house in Fremantle that is home to 190 people in need of affordable housing while they get their lives back on track.
With support from BHP Billiton, Form has undertaken to reinvigorate the space and make it a positive place to live with projects including community engagement, workshops for residents, murals and new furnishings and artist residents.
I was thrilled to be approached by Form to design the branding for 100 Hampton Road. The idea behind the design is a whole made from many parts, of all different shapes and sizes. It is designed for use as a stencil, making it easy to apply to the building and signage.
The brandmark is already being used on aprons, products made by the residents (such as chutneys) and a map of Fremantle (designed by Michelle Leslie Design) with markers suggested by the residents themselves. More information about this part of the project coming soon.
